Welcome to the 21st India International Seafood Show - 2018 in Goa

India International Seafood Show (IISS) 2016 was a grand success. Next edition of IISS will be held in 2018 at Goa. IISS is one of the largest Seafood Fairs in Asia. It is a biennial event, which offers a platform of opportunities for exporters and importers of Indian marine products, processors, resource specialists and personnel and culture fisheries, processing machinery manufacturers and allied sectors, to meet under one roof, facilitating participants and trade visitors to conduct business, upgrade technologies, network and exchange ideas for mutual benefit and further business and trade relations. The very objective of organizing the IISS is to highlight India's commitment on safe and sustainable practices in fisheries, both capture and culture.

The First Seafood Show was held at Mumbai in 1973. Out of last four Editions, 2010, 2012 and 2014 shows were held at Chennai and 2016 show was organized at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. During the last four editions, the Show has gained prominent recognition in the Global Seafood Community and established an International stature.

Wild caught marine species has got a prominent role to play in the seafood exports of the country and citing the importance of capture fisheries, which has got a strong foothold in the west coast of India, Goa has been declared as the venue for IISS 2018. Goa is the prominent tourist spot visited by large numbers of international and domestic tourists each year for its beaches, places of worship and world heritage architecture. It has rich flora and fauna, owing to its location on the Western Ghats range, a biodiversity hotspot and was selected as the ideal location for holding IISS 2018.

India exported quality seafood worth US $4.7 Billion (Provisional) in 2015-16 and is expected to achieve US $10 Billion in 2020.This revolves around increased aquaculture production with emphasis on Safety and Sustainability. The Show will help create Success Stories among the participating Companies and channelize their growth in this Industry.

IISS 2018 will be highlighting the technological advances and sustainable practices followed in Capture & Culture Fisheries in India. Indian Fishermen, Aqua Farmers and Seafood Exporters have made it their tradition to conduct their activities in a sustainable way and in harmony with nature. Increasing export of value added exports to about half of the total quantity, will also be a key component of marine products export plan of India. The way to go forward on this will involve more technological back-up, which can be provided through the participants of this show from abroad and in India.
